If you’re trying to capture a tender moment between two Sims, having zero walls adds a lot of noise to the image that drowns out the part you’re actually trying to focus on. Er, not realistic, exactly - this is The Sims we’re talking about. At the same time, it also makes the game look less realistic. This increases your overall visibility and thus your ability to keep track of a bunch of different Sims at once. If I’m just playing The Sims 4 and not thinking about capturing anything, I usually end up leaving the walls down in the game’s display mode.
